Induction for all Nurses – What Every Nurse Must Know About NABH

To provide a 2-hour induction training module for new employees joining healthcare organizations, enabling them to understand the basics of NABH, healthcare quality and patient and staff safety standards

By the end of this 2-hour role-based induction session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of correct patient identification – Verify patients at every point of care to prevent errors.
  • Enhance effective communication – Apply clear and structured communication practices to ensure accurate information exchange within teams and with patients.
  • Ensure the safe handling of high-alert medications – Recognize and follow safety protocols for medications like insulin, opioids, and anticoagulants to minimize risk.
  • Promote surgical safety – Understand the importance of surgical safety checklists, site marking, and team briefings in preventing wrong-site or wrong-patient procedures.
  • Reduce infection risks – Follow basic infection control practices such as proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and environmental cleanliness.
  • Recognize the value of NABH accreditation – Appreciate how accreditation ensures consistent quality, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement in all departments.
